#twitterproblems

Twitter. Facebook. Tumblr. Path. Google+.

Enough is enough.

Fights starting and taking place on a social network are incredibly stupid. and I am SO sick and tired of it.  The fact that one tweet that related to nothing can be interpretted as fighting words is idiotic.

I'll be honest, I'm a twitterwhore. I'll subtweet everything, but I'm starting to think I'm just going to delete the whole thing. It's aggravating having people misread tweets and get offended. like no, I wasn't talking about you.
And who cares what anyone else has to say anyway? In under 160 characters or less, it can't be that important anyway. But somehow it manages to step on toes and start battles.

Blogging is okay. No one actually reads blogs or even knows if you have a blog.

But there are four types of people in twitter.
first, the person who complains about every single thing in their life. I'm sorry but you sound pathetic, please see the positive sometimes.
secondly, the person who retweets everything.  come up with your own ideas.
thirdly, this applies to the protagonistr and antagonist. the person who purposefully subtweets to make someone mad. and the person who retailiates too much and causes more problems.
fourthly, the person who only tweets happy things to make the complaining people mad.

Not only are there different types of people, but there are also different perceptions of how much you should tweet in a day.
I follow people who tweet 1 thing every other day, and I follow people who tweet every hour.

I am type 3 and 4 while being a notorious twitterwhore, tweeting maybe ten times a day.
Currently I'm on a twitterfast and taking a week break.

The heart of the matter is -and I cannot stress this enough- ignorance is looked upon with admiration. WHY?  If you don't know something, don't tweet rumors! Most of the time twitter just makes me angry or I learn something about a person's afterschool activities.. (see disgusting problems in the rich suburbs).

I'm done with it. Twitter I must wish you good bye, too much internal stress comes from this social networking. Although I enjoy following celebrities, I don't want people to hear what I really think.

That's what my blog is for.

  1. I would have to mostly agree with you. Below is my editorial essay that I wrote about how social networks are destroying America.

Social networking is the death of the individual. Social networks are invading every aspect of life. Privacy is a thing of the past. Nothing is personal information anymore. Fraud, deception and stalking is as easy as a few mouse clicks. Speaking in person has turned into an abnormality. Worst of all, Social Networking is depressing all of America.
Before the infectious waves of social networking sites, there was a standard of what was shared and what wasn’t. Now, there are the small annoyance like why should I, or really anyone, care that "Roman is having an OK day, and bought a Coke Zero at the gas station” or that “Haley likes Olive Garden’s breadsticks”. What is more concerning is the fact that American’s lives are becoming completely public.
A creepy old man (yes, stereotype) sitting in his house can find out all he needs to know about a teenage girl with a “good physique”. The pervert can peruse the girl’s photos, statuses, information and tweets. If the damsel is foolish enough to tweet “Parents gone 4 the weekend  #party”, the perv can use the information he gathered from the social networking sites to do vile things. The social networks can also be misused to deceive others, like the case of Megan Meier.
True first impressions have become a relic. Before people meet, they are judged as each inspects the other’s Facebook or MySpace account. The once potential friends dissect each other’s lives and make irreversible assumptions over what is seen on the screen. When the two humans finally meet they have already decided who the person is and what is said doesn’t really matter.
If by chance two people meet having not “creeped” on each other, the chances of them holding a legitimate conversation are much lower than it used to be. With the epidemic of texting and instant messaging, teens are talking more via these systems than in person. A Facebook instant message conversation can fly by at rates tens of times faster than a conversation would pass in person. With these conversations moving at such rapid rates, the teens run out of acceptable things to talk about rapidly. So what happens now? The teens fight, insult and demoralize each other, or they start to talk “the dirt” (a.k.a. sexting). Both results are not healthy for developing human beings and both have led to dozens of teenage suicides.
Inadequacy is spreading like wildfire in the brains of America’s youth. As teens look at others’ Facebook accounts and see their friends’ photos, witty comments and shared links, the teens begin to feel that their own social interactions don’t live up others. Social networks are rapidly becoming more sensational than the Yellow Journalism of the 1890’s. Everyone’s life on Facebook seems so much better than it actually is, because Facebook is written by its users and people instinctively make themselves sound better.
Society had maintained a careful balance between what is private and what is public for thousands of years until social networks arrived. Social interactions were something that came about naturally as humans evolved. Social networks are not natural; they depend on computers, servers and code. Social networks will be the death of society as we know it. Social networking was designed to bring people together, but it is instead tearing us apart.
